Reality-Based Close Quarters Combat Training

ABOUT CITADEL

Citadel is not a traditional martial arts school.

There are no belts.
No trophies.
No performance ranking systems.

Progress is earned through demonstrated skill, control, awareness, and consistency under pressure.

This is a training environment focused on real-world close quarters dynamics—open-hand striking, clinch work, tactical movement, improvised weapon awareness, knife fundamentals, and pressure-based scenario training.

The goal is simple:
function under stress, not perform for points.

TRAINING PHILOSOPHY

We do not train for sport.

We train for:

  • Controlled violence under pressure
  • Situational awareness in chaos
  • Efficient movement in confined space
  • Decision-making under stress
  • Physical and mental composure

Technique is only valued if it holds up under resistance.

STRUCTURE & PROGRESSION

There are no ranks.

Instead, progression is based on:

  • Technical consistency
  • Physical conditioning
  • Behavioral discipline under fatigue
  • Safe execution under live resistance drills

Students are evaluated continuously, not promoted ceremonially.

CLASSES & DIVISIONS

Training is separated to ensure safety and focus:

Adult Fundamentals

Foundational movement, striking, clinch, and defensive positioning.

Advanced CQC Training

High-pressure drills, timing, resistance-based sparring, scenario integration.

Specialized Modules

Knife awareness, stick integration, confined-space tactics, and situational response training.

Youth Program (If Offered)

If implemented, youth training is strictly structured, age-appropriate, and focused on discipline, coordination, confidence, and controlled physical development.

Youth training is not recreational and is never treated casually.

STANDARDS OF ENTRY

Citadel is not for everyone.

Participants are expected to show:

  • Respect for training partners and environment
  • Ability to follow instruction under pressure
  • Willingness to be corrected and challenged
  • Commitment to safety and controlled execution

Training is demanding by design, but always structured and safe in delivery.

ENVIRONMENT

This is a controlled training space, not a fitness class or social club.

Expect:

  • Physical pressure
  • Repetition under fatigue
  • Scenario-based learning
  • Realistic resistance training (appropriately scaled by level)

Growth comes from discomfort, applied safely and intentionally.

THE STANDARD

Citadel exists to build capability, not ego.

You don’t “win” here.
You improve—or you don’t continue.

What matters is not how you look in training, but how you function under stress.

CLOSING STATEMENT

Citadel is built on a simple principle:

If you are capable, training refines you.
If you are inconsistent, training exposes it.
If you are committed, training transforms you.
